With a commitment to fostering cultural understanding, the school plans to host a series of events, ceremonies and activities involving Parry Sound schools and the Wasauksing Kinomaugewgamik School First Nations community.

The proposed collaborative efforts hope to build connections through sporting events, Pow Wows, exchanges, guest speakers and field trips. These initiatives will create shared experiences, fostering mutual respect and understanding among students, educators and communities.

To turn this vision into reality, the Indigenous Reconciliation Fund (IRF) will provide essential funding for a two-year program, supporting the planning and execution of a diverse range of events and ensuring a sustained effort towards promoting greater connections.

Through this initiative, Wasauksing Kinomaugewgamik School not only looks to strengthen relationships within the educational landscape of Parry Sound but also sets an example of reconciliation and collaboration. By promoting cultural exchange and shared experiences, the school sees the opportunity to create a more inclusive and harmonious educational environment for all involved.
